This is the complete truth. I think it was Grade Eight (I was in A.P.Low so it must have been). There must have been nine hundred feet of snow and it was still coming down. The temperatures were as cold as it can be and still snow, which is actually colder than you might think. The Jamaicans must have been horrified at the environment so different from what they were used to. Incredible really that so many families came there from all over the world. It was state of the art for mining at the time and the adults were on the leading edge of their fields...their kids were at the 'shellshocked' stage of their worldly experiences! Great guys though, and over the years they became part of the 'Originals'...along with a cosmopolitian mix of people from all over, Sculpin Tickle included!
