As I type this today, it is 02 November...far from summer! Especially this past one, since we didn't really have a 'proper summer'! This year winter rolled into spring completely smothering it. June and July were as cold and miserable as March and April most years! Then when the warmish weather wandered into our ecosystem during August, it was welcome, but a bit of 'too little, too late'.
It is true that we had a lovely September and that October was not bad, but ask my tomato plants why they aren't producing plump red fruit! There was no growing season! So...I've wandered off topic slightly. This strip took in several views of summers over the years. All panels have their roots in reality. I've always been kind of proud of panels 2 and 4, for their thought, and panel 5 is a reflection of the early morning radio show that used to call itself the 'Dawn Patrol'. I changed the name to something just as fitting...since to this day I still can't handle much jabber in the morning. Just play me some music and keep quiet (an opinion only, not a criticism). Panel 7 was a redraw of a T-Shirt design I did back during the Hibernia heyday. It sold pretty good, given how accurate it was! The thing with Newfoundland weather is that no matter how many times a writer addresses it, or how many times a cartoonist draws it, there will always be something to say about it...never a dull moment (except of course, when it's dull).
