The thought behind this strip was brought about by many years living 'on the road' (I work as a design contractor in my day job, taking employment opportunities in many places). It's all based on my time away and my visits home. Panel 5 is a thought set in my head by my brother who, being the biggest homebody I know, was going through a lot of visitors during that time. He lives in Dunville, NL and the only tourist attraction in the area is Castle Hill in Placentia. Whenever anyone visited he was obliged to go to see the 'Hill' and often commented that he could do the tour himself!
Castle Hill is the site of the fortifications that were built to defend Placentia, the then French capital in the New World. History eventually had the French ousted and replaced by the British, who promptly made St. John's their capital.
