One time a bunch of us were walking around up on the 'wild side' of Smokey Mountain. It was a summer evening so it didn't get dark until quite late at night. We were walking back towards town and a couple of us got out ahead of the others so we thought we'd have some fun, and hide in the bush until the laggers behind had gone on past us. Then we could sneak behind them and give them a little spooking. Well, the joke was on us...it was finally getting duckish and the shadows were reaching out to stripe us. As we walked down the hillside we could hear rustling in the woods beside us every now an then. It kept up until we were within sight of town! Eventually we caught up with the rest of the group who had also been noticing the sounds in the shadows. Later that week we were speaking with a local wildlife guy who told us that the timber wolves were really plentiful up around Smokey that summer! Soiled undies anyone?
