So, I've been here long enough now to experience some of the famous Quebec City region's winter...it's fekking cold. Labrador cold...almost, but with a touch of wet air...and mood shifts into the realms of freezing rain followed by arctic blasts! I have not had much opportunity to see the area yet as I've been working from dark to dark again. There is a little daylight now before I leave the shipyard and I know that the days will gradually gain a bit of light. I'm looking forward to seeing the area.
So far the people have been great. My french that I lost after the Pool Hall days of my youth is gradually rearing its head. I've been noticing signs and such, wondering why I know what it means! Also, I've managed to order beer and buy some basic groceries without too much embarrassment. Most everyone seems willing to help out someone attempting to learn the lingo. Here's a pic of my room at the Kennedy Hotel...it has a celebrity theme! Mine's the 'Whitney' room!
