I have always been a music person. I like all forms and styles of music, from my own culture and from those of others...exotic instruments and beats! Wonderful. But I could never take to the 'thump thump thump' dance craze that took over the world (and the radio, and the clubs!). It just wasn't my thing. Lots of people loved it and took to dancing to disco like sheep take to following sheep, but I couldn't. Granted there were a few numbers that had enough 'oomph' to them to be tolerable but for the most part Disco really did Suck. I suspect it still does...I don't know for sure becasue I figured out how to avoid the joints that pandered to it.
A Rock 'n Roll footnote to the history of Disco that I'm compelled to mention is the Rolling Stones' "Some Girls" album. Now that was a breath of air in the disco vacuum. It was as though the Stones were saying "if you have to play disco, here's how it's done!".
